Week 5 Paragraph

Write a paragraph describing your strategy for interactively demonstrating the notion of decay and post to your blog.

I will begin by showing the before and after 'destruction Occurred' within my project to demonstrate the state of 'change' measured in decay, showing images of of my walls and ground and other sections of my two models that co-inside within one another. I wanted to do something along the lines of a 'sci-fi' film trailer like robots taken over or aliens invade. I will start by creating a trackview set up around my 'Today Model' and adjust the terrain and vegetation to suit the nature of the Pavillions state, with bright coloured leafy trees surrounding the building, moving daylight settings to a romantic time of the day(most likely a sepia wash) to give the viewers a sense of 'fond memories'. I will then copy the level with the same track view, however I will swap the two models around and film the sequence again with my 'destructed model' and then over lay the two together. I will also rearrange the landscape, turning the vegetation into dark leafy tall trees that over hang the Pavilion with also scrubby bushes and plants growing throughout the building. I will also import some 'robot' models from Sketchup to help narrate the story I want to convey without using black frame texts. I want to use some footage taken from my Laura Marling film clip at the very beginning of my trailer as the camera sweets through the ally way which I will merge into my own footage.

Week 5: 50 word Reflection

In todays lecture, we Listened to Jeremy Harkins from Realtime Inemi.
Harkin talked about the integration and blending experiment with data, providing unique user viewpoints, creating a common point for merging disporate ideas within the digital world.
He also talked about flexibility within a realtime interactive environment and how the this may seem like a bonus, however in reality comes difficult because there are no paramaters to work within so design becomes directionless. Harkins talked briefly on the commercialization of of real time environments(are they scalable).

Unique observations.
the saying " the skies the Limit" or "You are only restricted by the bounds of your imagination" are true within a real time environment. almost anything is possible if you have the desire and determination to realize those thoughts. Real time environments are dynamic in an updatability pervasive and interactive world.

Week 4 50 Word reflection of this weeks lecture

In today's lecture we looked at the methods, modes and applications of doing blend layer as a way of  successfully depict decay and structural failure of our structures. We touched briefly on some of the last years attempt at this skill and what was effective and not effective. We looked at some examples of real life decay and overgrowth images and commented on the different consistencies and patterns in the way, for instance "how moss grows and where".

Unique observation

I think the idea of 'moss' or vegetation taking back what humanity no longer occupies is a great idea. the state of decay is never ordinary or identical. The ways in which things decompose are often , in some ways, unpredictable. For Instance, where or how moss grows can be localized but never calculated. If it looks like its contained, it doesn't look natural. Random movement of the earth and vegetation above ground is what makes natural things realistic.

Three Movie trailers

 The Matrix

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m8e-FF8MsqU

I liked the idea of robots taking over the world or a sci-fi sort of film story for my project, so I looked into a few I was quite familar with. One all time classic and personal favorite was the first 'Matrix'.

The Village

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kq_B_ukrGKo

I liked the idea of seclusion and the isolation of man as an integrated idea within my project. I found this film depicted that sort of idea. I also admired the certain cinematic properties within the trailer.

Laura Marling - When a Brave Bird Saved

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCnK3FMuMAs

This trailer isn't actually a trailer but a compilation of songs that sort of imitate a kind of trailer like feel. I was particularly interested in some of the beginning sounds and shots the film which I may use within my project.
